MaTchai Store started with something very simple:
two sisters discovering matcha.
After COVID, while living in Greece, matcha slowly became part of our daily routine. At first it was curiosity. Then we started noticing something else — the steady energy, the mental clarity, the calm focus it brought into our days.
It wasn’t just a drink anymore.
It became a ritual.
The more we drank it, the more we realized how powerful this green tea really is. The benefits, the taste, the feeling it gives. And naturally a thought came to us:
why not share this experience with others?
So in 2020, we started MaTchai as a small online shop while living in Greece. Everything was built by us — the brand, the colors, the packaging, the concept. Slowly, step by step, the idea grew.
But the most important part was always the same:
finding the right matcha.
We tested many. We rejected many more. Different origins, different qualities, different profiles — until we finally found the one that met our standards for color, taste and texture. We found the organic matcha from Kyoto Japan. It is JAS organic certified which gave us a confidence that we had found the right matcha.
Later we returned to Albania and decided to take the next step:
to create a physical space dedicated to matcha.
That’s how Matchai Store was born.
A Japanese-inspired matcha bar designed for quality, creativity and relaxation.
Today our menu includes more than 12 matcha drinks, combining premium matcha with fruits, textures and our signature cold foams — recipes we developed and perfected through continuous training and experimentation.
We also introduced hojicha drinks, a roasted Japanese tea rarely found in Albania, bringing a completely different and unique flavor experience. Its been only 2 months we created our Matcha Bar in Tirana and we have gained 80 5star reviews and more than 2000 clients loving our matcha.
But our work doesn’t stop there.
Every day we continue learning, testing and exploring new possibilities with matcha. New combinations. New textures. New ways to enjoy this remarkable tea.
Because for us, matcha is more than a trend.
It is a drink that supports energy, balance and wellbeing.
And our hope is simple:
that matcha becomes part of your routine too — a small daily ritual that helps you feel better, think clearer and reconnect with yourself.
